The Sloan Museum of Discovery is a 107,000-square-foot hands-on science and history museum at 1221 E Kearsley St in Flint's Cultural Center campus, reopened in July 2022 after a major expansion and renovation featuring four primary interactive galleries: an early childhood Hagerman Street neighborhood, a Discovery Hall science gallery, a History Gallery showcasing Flint and Genesee County's past, and the Durant Vehicle Gallery with rare historic automobiles built in Genesee County — including the first Buicks, a WWII Hellcat tank destroyer, and rare concept cars. The museum houses more than 52,000 artifacts and 300,000 archival items, and Genesee County residents receive free general admission. It is closely affiliated with the adjacent Longway Planetarium, and both are part of the nonprofit Flint Institute of Science and History.
