Longway Planetarium is Michigan's largest planetarium, located at 1310 E Kearsley St on the Flint Cultural Center campus, featuring an 88-foot-wide dome with reclining seating for 129 guests and a state-of-the-art Digistar 7 4K projection system with 7.1 surround sound installed in 2021. The planetarium was originally built in 1958 and named for community leader Robert T. Longway, and offers live sky tours, astronomy lectures, full-dome IMAX films, and laser and music light shows six days a week. It is operated together with the adjacent Sloan Museum of Discovery as part of the nonprofit Flint Institute of Science and History.
