John J. MacInnes Student Ice Arena is the home of Michigan Technological University's three-time NCAA champion Huskies hockey team, located on the MTU campus in Houghton. The 4,466-capacity arena opened in 1972 and was named for legendary head coach John J. MacInnes, who compiled a 555-295-39 record over 27 seasons. Beyond hockey, the facility hosts commencement ceremonies, recreational skating, intramural hockey, and campus events, featuring 14 luxury suites, a pro shop, and nine locker rooms.
