About This Location

Historic White Pine Village at 1687 S Lakeshore Dr in Ludington is an outdoor living history museum spread across 23 acres along the Lake Michigan shoreline, preserving and interpreting the daily life of Mason County from the mid-1800s through the early 1900s through 30 historic buildings including a blacksmith shop, one-room schoolhouse, trapper's cabin, general store, chapel, and the 1882 Mason County Courthouse. Interpreters in period dress demonstrate 19th-century crafts and trades, and special events throughout the season including civil war reenactments and harvest festivals bring the community's logging and maritime heritage to life. The museum is one of western Michigan's most visited historical sites.
