About This Location

Bond Falls Scenic Site at Bond Falls Rd in Paulding, Ontonagon County, is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Michigan — a breathtaking 50-foot cascade of the Middle Branch Ontonagon River tumbling over a series of mossy basalt ledges in a wide, photogenic arc that spans nearly 100 feet across. Managed by Upper Peninsula Power Company and the Michigan DNR, the site features an accessible boardwalk and viewing platforms that bring visitors close to the falls, and a trail connects to the adjacent Lake of the Forest and additional natural areas. Bond Falls is considered one of the crown jewels of the Upper Peninsula's waterfall circuit and draws photographers and nature lovers from across the Midwest.
