Toast is a good first cooking skill because the toaster does the work.
Take one or two slices of bread out of the bag and close the bag.
Drop each slice into a slot of the toaster.
Set the browning dial to about the middle.
Push the lever down and wait for the toast to pop up.
Lift the toast out by the edge, or use a fork if it is hot, and put it on a plate.
Add butter or spread, then unplug or turn off the toaster if that is your household rule.
