About This Location

Waldo Stadium has been the home of Western Michigan University Broncos football since 1939, when it opened with a 6-0 win over Miami University, and now seats over 30,000 fans. Named for the school's first president, Dwight B. Waldo, the stadium's playing surface was renamed Stafford-Smith Field in 2024 following a $5 million donation, the largest naming gift in WMU athletics history.
