Hoffmaster State Park is a 1,100-acre gem on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan at 6585 Lake Harbor Rd in Muskegon, known for its towering sand dunes, nearly three miles of pristine Lake Michigan shoreline, and a network of hiking trails through forested dunes that rank among the most dramatic landscapes in Michigan. The park's E. Genevieve Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center offers interpretive exhibits on the Great Lakes dune ecosystem and environmental education programs. Camping, swimming, picnicking, and excellent birding attract visitors year-round, and Hoffmaster is consistently rated one of Michigan's most beautiful state parks.
