About This Location

The Marquette Maritime Museum, housed in the 1891 Richardsonian Romanesque-style former City Waterworks building, preserves the maritime history of Marquette, Lake Superior, and the Great Lakes iron ore trade. Open seasonally from May through October, the ADA-accessible museum features exhibits on the Edmund Fitzgerald shipwreck, the largest collection of Fresnel lighthouse lenses on the Great Lakes, and a memorial to WWII submarine veterans, and manages guided tours of the adjacent Marquette Harbor Lighthouse.
