About This Location
Happendance is Michigan's longest-running professional contemporary dance company, founded in 1976 by Diane Newman with an impromptu performance on the banks of the Red Cedar River at Michigan State University. Based in Okemos, the organization offers professional performances, low-cost dance classes for all ages and abilities, and an Education Exchange program reaching more than 6,000 schoolchildren annually.
